Serializing a Parallel LCD Module

(Portions of this page are presented with permission of Nuts and Volts magazine.)

For readers of my "PICAXE Primer" column in Nuts and Volts magazine, this page includes the large-sized stripboard layouts for the two serialized LCDs we constructed in the June 2009 installment, as well as the three program listings we used in the project.

If you are not a Nuts and Volts reader, you may want to purchase the June 2009 issue for details on our serialized LCD projects. Better yet, subscribe to Nuts and Volts Magazine - it contains many interesting and informative articles on microcontrollers and related electronic topics.

Documentation for HD44780-based LCDs can be found at the following locations:

If you would rather construct a printed-circuit board version of either of the two sizes of LCDs, see the "Products" menu on the left side of this page.
